Stage 6

Starting in Mona Vale this stage climbs into Terrey Hills and the leafy North Shore suburbs of Sydney, encompassing a section of the Seven Bridges walk and ending in Drummoyne.

The path

Starting at Mona Vale, we head to the extremity of the peninsula of the northern beaches, the Palm Beach lighthouse. Returning alongside Pittwater we then pass through the leafy suburbs of Terrey Hills and into Sydney’s north shore suburbs. This stage includes an optional walk through the Lane Cove National park and heads over Figtree Bridge and the Gladesville bridge and into Drummoyne. This stage is named after the green hill areas of Spain known as Galicia.

Mona Vale to Newport via Palm Beach

We walk from Mona Vale to Palm Beach, returning via Pittwater and Clareville to Newport (Pittwater side).

Newport to St Ives

We pass through Newport to Mona Vale and make the climb into Terrey Hills and St Ives. There are two optional extension bushwalks: Chiltern Track and Duckholes Trail into Terrey Hills and the Showground Trail into St Ives.

St Ives to St Leonards

From St Ives, we head into Pymble, Gordon, Killara and into Chatswood, with an optional extension through Lane Cove National Park.
